In the days following Blackout Tuesday last June, Toronto blogger and influencer Sasha Exeter called on others with a large platform to speak out against racial injustice. Her plea was apparently ill-received by celeb stylist (and Meghan Markle’s former BFF) Jessica Mulroney, who felt targeted and attacked Exeter privately via text messages, threatening to ruin her career and sue her for libel. A Black single mom with a fraction of Mulroney’s power, Exeter could have backed down. Instead, she bravely posted an 11-minute video explaining the series of events and calling Mulroney out on her “textbook white privilege.” The result: Exeter’s follower count skyrocketed while Mulroney’s new CTV show, I Do, Redo, was promptly cancelled. Mic drop!
