Princess Eugenie has welcomed her second son with her husband Jack Brooksbank on May 30th, Buckingham Palace shared in a statement. The Princess, the niece of King Charles III, also confirmed the news on her Instagram with a beautiful photo of the new baby in an adorable vintage bassinet.
“Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs.”
Eugenie, 32, is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, and is the late Queen’s granddaughter and cousin of William and Harry. She also has one of our favourite baby names inspired by princesses (her obviously being the princess). shared the sweet meaning of his name in the caption.
“He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald,” Eugenie captioned her Instagram upload of Ernest who is now 13th in line to the throne. The Duke of Edinburgh has now been demoted to 14th place.
The name Ronnie is a loving nod to the Duchess of York’s late father, Maj Ronald Ferguson, who passed away in 2003. Eugenie is said to have been particularly fond of him.
The couple’s first son August, born in February of 2021, seems to be handling the new addition to the family well, “Augie is loving being a big brother already. 💙❤️💙❤️.”
The beloved royals included an adorable photo of August gently touching the head of his new baby brother while he rests in collection of vintage-looking cable knits and crochet.
