What’s new on Disney+ Canada for kids and families in September 2020


New content is coming to Disney+! The streaming service from Disney has announced which new TV shows and movies will be added to its lineup next month, and of course that means, more options for the whole family! There’s a handful of titles to look forward to in September, including premier access to Mulan, a bunch of movies from the Tinker Bell series and new episodes of Muppets Now! Check out the full lineup with specific release dates below.

But first, an important note: The age recommendations offered below are approximate. Every kid is different, and you’re the best judge of what’s appropriate and what your kid can handle.

Mulan

Best for: 8+
A fearless young woman risks everything out of love for her family and her country to become one of the greatest warriors China has ever known. When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Bend It Like Beckham

Best for: 12+
The daughter of orthodox Sikh rebels against her parents’ traditionalism and joins a football team. Available September 4

George and A.J.

Best for: 7+
After Nurses George and A.J. of the Shady Oaks Retirement Village witness Carl leaving with his house towed by balloons, other senior citizens around the city are inspired to make their own “escapes”, much to George and A.J.’s chagrin. Available September 4

The Incredible Dr. Pol, Season 15

Best for: 9+
With more than 20,000 patients, Dr. Pol has seen it all. Specializing in large farm animals, this senior is anything but retiring as he takes an old school, no-nonsense approach to veterinary medicine.

Kingdom of the White Wolf, Season 1

Best for: 9+
Ronan Donovan, our expert guide and National Geographic photographer, takes the audience on an intimate exploration of the Arctic during the endless day of the summer months, giving insight to the unexpected abundance of the ‘Garden of the Arctic’ in Wolf Valley as he attempts to embed with a wolf family pack. Available September 4

Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers

Best for: 4+
Best friends Mickey, Donald and Goofy are gatekeepers with big dreams of becoming Musketeers. The opportunity arises when Princess Minnie’s throne gets endangered and the friends go to help her. Available September 4

Mulan II (2005)

Best for: 4+
While preparing for their wedding, Shang and Mulan are suddenly sent off on a secret mission. Mushu starts to meddle, and a surprise attack by Mongolians doesn’t help either. Available September 4

Party Central

Best for: 5+
With a little trickery, Mike and Sulley help their social outcast friends at Monsters University have the best frat party ever. Available September 4

Pocahontas II: Journey To A New World

Best for: 5+
Pocahontas sets off on a journey to England with Meeko, Flit, and Percy. Hearing rumours of John Smith’s death, Pocahontas tries to prevent war and battle. Available September 4

Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, Season 3

Best for: 5+
Rapunzel escapes from the palace since she finds it hard to adapt to the royal lifestyle. Together with her friends, she is on the quest to find her true self. Available September 4

Riley’s First Date

Best for: 5+
Riley, who is now 12, is hanging out with her parents at home when potential trouble comes knocking. Mom’s and Dad’s Emotions find themselves forced to deal with Riley going on her first date. Available September 4

Tinker Bell

Best for: 4+
Enter the land of Tinker Bell and her four best fairy friends. Available September 4

Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue

Best for: 4+
Tinker Bell must team up with a rival fairy to keep their existence a secret from humans. Available September 4

Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure

Best for: 4+
Tinker Bell journey far North of Never Land to patch things up with her friend Terence and restore a Pixie Dust Tree. Available September 4

Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy

Best for: 4+
When Zarina steals Pixie Hollow’s Blue Pixie Dust and flies away, Tinker Bell and her friends sets on a journey to get them back. Available September 4

Trick or Treat

Best for: 5+
Trick or Treat is a 1952 animated short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. The cartoon, which takes place on Halloween night, follows a series of pranks between Donald Duck and his nephews with Witch Hazel. Available September 4

Earth to Ned

Best for: 7+
From the Jim Henson Company comes a late-night talk show hosted by alien commander Ned and his lieutenant Cornelius, who call off the invasion of Earth after they fall in love with human culture. Broadcasting from the bridge of their spaceship, hidden deep underground, Ned and Cornelius interview Earth’s greatest resource, celebrities. With the help of the ship’s artificial intelligence, BETI, and the destructive CLODs, Ned must keep his show a secret from his home planet or suffer the wrath of the Admiral of the Galactic Fleet. Muppets Now

Muppets Now
social media intern, Robin The Frog, makes Scooter co-moderator of the social media accounts. Scooter attempts to carry out this week’s upload amidst a flood of alerts, requests, and notifications. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant, Beaker, receive legal lectures and accidental assistance from Muppet attorney, Joe The Legal Weasel. The Swedish Chef faces his competitor, Marina Michelson, to prove his family recipe makes the most magnificent meatball. Fozzie Bear talks shop with fellow comedian Seth Rogen, while babysitting some bad babies. Linda Cardellini and Taye Diggs indulge Miss Piggy more than usual for this installment of Lifestyle with Miss Piggy. Season finale available September 4

Pixar in Real Life

After wishing to be made big, a teenage boy wakes the next morning to find himself mysteriously in the body of an adult. Available September 18

Coop & Cami Ask the World, Season 2

Best for: 7+
This show centres on two middle school siblings who make nearly all of their decisions crowd sourcing opinions from the millions of followers of Cooper’s online channel Would You Wrather? Available September 18

Becoming

Best for: 7+

Kingdom of the Mummies

Marvel Super Hero Adventures, Shorts

Spider-Man teams with other Marvel heroes, in this short-form series, to teach the benefits of friendship, co-operation and heroism. Available September 18

Notre Dame: Race Against the Inferno

Best for: 10+
